Located on the Pokljuka plateau, in Goreljek settlement, Hotel Pokljuka is in the embrace of centuries-old spruces. Here we await you with a warm smile, refreshing drinks and traditional home cooking. Hotel Pokljuka is your second home in the middle of the Triglav National Park.

The facilities and the environment offer many opportunities for fitness preparation and training of top or recreational athletes and individuals and relaxation or rest. Family-friendly rooms allow pleasant leisure time together and the surroundings offer many opportunities for exploration. We are organizing seminars, business events and social gatherings with a touch of nature and traditional values.

Athletes of all levels will discover a variety of preparation and training choices. The hotel has a Finnish and Infrared sauna with a rest area, mini fitness, a multipurpose room – seminar room and at the same time a gym, where there is also a children’s playroom. The hotel can rent equipment for alpine and cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing and storage of ski and cross-country equipment in winter, and mountain bike rental and storage space for guest’s bicycles in summer. Free parking is available in front of the hotel for guests (including buses and larger groups).

Pokljuka is a high karst plateau on the eastern edge of the Triglav National Park, lying between 1200 and 1500 m above sea level. It is covered by a vast spruce forest and it is also known for its mountain pastures Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki.

The beginnings of the hotel on Pokljuka

The hotel has a long tradition, as it was built around 1928 / 1932. It was built by Ivan Kenda, who at that time was the majority owner of many hotels in Bled. In Pokljuka, he created a refuge for Bled and Bohinj dignitaries, landowners, merchants and important people from the wider Gorenjska region. They spent their free time here and gathered forest fruits, which is why Pokljuka is still widely visited today. The hotel was last renovated in 1973 and had to wait until 2009 for a new look.
In the period between the wars, Slovenia was very active in the field of mountaineering. The great wish of many was to climb Triglav. In this respect, Pokljuka was an excellent starting point for recreationists who came from all over Slovenia and from the Hotel Šport, as called in the past, to the highest peak in Slovenia.

After 2016

In 2015, the Pokljuka Hotel passed into private ownership. In 2016, a complete renovation of the hotel took place. It was reopened in a new image on December 4, 2016. In order to improve the offer, especially for athletes, the hotel has 13 hypoxic rooms with 31 beds and 12 extra beds, which allow you to stay and sleep at an altitude of 3500 m. Today this is a three star hotel that offers a pleasant, warm accommodation in classic or hypoxic rooms, a balanced diet, wi-fi, finnish and infrared sauna, gym, rooms for analysis and meetings, multifunctional space, depending on the needs of individual athletes and also organize the use of fitness, playgrounds and other sports facilities.

Hotel Pokljuka is located in the village of Goreljek on Pokljuka in the immediate vicinity of Rudno polje (Biathlon Center) at an altitude of 1250 meters. The entire area is situated in the Triglav National Park and only 20 minutes drive from Bled and 25 minutes from Bohinj, with the capital city of Ljubljana being, is less than an hour’s drive away.
